Brazilian Cardinal

This is one of the most attractive cage birds both in color and song. They are about seven inches in length; the upper part of the body and tail are dusky gray, and the lower parts vary from clear white to gray; the head and crest are brilliant scarlet.

His habits are about the same as his relative, the Virginia Cardinal or American Red Bird, but the voice is not so loud and much sweeter. Should be kept in a large cage. Feed padda, hemp and canary seed with plenty of green food, such as apple, lettuce, boiled potato, etc.
